Nuclear fuel successfully loaded at BelNPP
The Belarusian nuclear power plant (BelNPP) has successfully completed the loading of nuclear fuel into the reactor of the second power unit – as reported by the Telegram channel Minenergo Ofitsialny [Energy Ministry official]
“On December 27th, 2021, works were completed on loading nuclear fuel into the reactor core of the second power unit at the Belarusian nuclear power plant. 163 fuel assemblies with fresh nuclear fuel have been loaded into the reactor,” reads the message.
It is noted that as part of the further implementation of the unit physical start-up programme, it is planned to assemble and seal the reactor. These include the conduct of the necessary hydraulic tests and bringing the reactor into a hot state and then reaching the minimum controlled power level.
