No tickets will be sold for Winter Olympics

The Organising Committee of the Winter Olympic Games in Beijing made a decision not to sell tickets to ensure safety of all participants and spectators – as informed by the IOC website


"In terms of the grim and complex situation of epidemic prevention and control and in order to protect the health and safety of Olympic personnel and spectators, we have decided to change the original plan of public ticket sales,” the statement reads.

Representatives of certain groups of spectators will have to strictly comply with COVID-19 prevention and control requirements before, during and after watching the Games.

Earlier, the IOC press service informed that the Winter Olympic Games will be held without foreign fans, and tickets for the competition will be available only to spectators residing in mainland China.

The 24th Games are set to begin in Beijing on February 4th – to finish on February 20th. The Paralympic Games are scheduled to be held from March 4th-13th.
