MP: Belarusians to render maximum support to earthquake victims in Turkiye and Syria
On behalf of the Chairperson of the Council of the Republic, Natalya Kochanova, the Belarusian senators expressed condolences to the ambassadors of Turkiye and Suria in Belarus – Mustafa Ozcan and Mohammad al-Umrani – over the numerous human casualties and destruction due to recent earthquakes in their countries
The parliamentarians stressed that Belarus is ready to lend a helping hand to the victims at any time.
“Belarusians learnt of a terrible catastrophe that resulted in human deaths and affected a large number of families in Turkiye and Syria with great sorrow and pain,” Sergei Sivets, the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the Council of the Republic on Legislation and State Construction, stressed. “Our citizens – who have experienced many tragic events in their history – understand more than anyone how great this tragedy is. Belarusians will always be close to our friends, we will provide maximum support, we will do everything in our power to minimise the bitterness of loss and help in restoring the destruction caused by that disaster.”
