At some point, about 1 million people became participants in the demonstration, according to the data from the city mayor’s office, Gazeta Wyborcza reports. Donald Tusk had already reported this number earlier. On his page on the social network X (Twitter), he made a post with the caption: ‘More than a million white and red hearts in Warsaw!’

Organisers called the event March of a Million Hearts. It took place two weeks before the parliamentary elections in Poland, which will be held on October 15th. The country’s former PM himself said that the demonstration became a symbol of revival, “We stand up to fight evil in order to bring this government to justice face to face, so that Poland will once again become free from lies, hatred and theft. This is our time.”
