On greeting the President, the Arab guest primarily thanked him for an opportunity to meet and for the time devoted by the Head of State to the meeting. The businessman was touched by the Belarusian hospitality, and expressed gratitude to Aleksandr Lukashenko for his support to the IT sector. “What you have done is really important for the world,” he told the President. “As far as I know, you paid much attention to the Hi-Tech Park development in the past, and it was just the beginning then. At the moment, we see that the whole world, the entire world economy is driven only by technology.”

Mohamed Ali Alabbar emphasised that Belarus exports more IT services per capita than many Western countries. “Meanwhile, people and the quality of education are key points for the IT sector development. Belarus has these, and it is very important for development of technology," he noted.

The businessman added that he owns the largest e-commerce company in the Middle East. According to him, many technologies are imported in the Arab world. Mohamed Ali Alabbar reported on a number of meetings in the Arab Emirates with Vsevolod Yanchevsky, the Hi-Tech Park’s Director, “We saw that Belarusian companies can invest much even in the platform that exists in the Emirates – and thus to increase the added value.”

Mohamed Ali Alabbar is a co-owner of major international companies in the field of investment, real estate, hospitality, e-commerce, logistics, catering, fashion, design and others. His business is present in more than 50 countries around the world, while he is an ideological inspirer and executor of the concept of creating a modern Dubai, also acting as a key economic and investment adviser (personal and governmental) to the leaders of Abu Dhabi and Dubai.
