Milei: Argentina is one step away from dollarisation

Argentina’s economy is one step away from dollarisation – as stated by the President of Argentina, Javier Milei, in an interview with La Nación newspaper, TASS reports

“We have covered 87.5 per cent of the monetary base, so counting at the market rate, we are one step away from dollarisation," the President noted. 

Earlier, Economy Minister Luis Caputo noted that the government could not begin its work with the implementation of Milei's election promises of closing the Central Bank and dollarisation. He explained that it was necessary to stabilise the economy in crisis first.
