MFA: US failed to issue visas for Belarus' delegation to attend Board of Peace meeting

The United States failed the issue visas for Belarus’ delegation to attend the inaugural Board of Peace meeting, sb.by reports citing Belarus’ Foreign Ministry

“The Belarusian side promptly informed the event organizers that, by decision of the head of state, our country would be represented by Foreign Minister Maxim Ryzhenkov. All necessary notifications were sent to the U.S. protocol services in accordance with established procedures, documents for visa processing were submitted well in advance,” the MFA stated. “However, despite our compliance with all required procedures, visas were not issued to our delegation. This raises a fair question: what peace or consistency can be discussed when the organizers couldn’t manage the simplest procedural steps for our attendance?”

“Yet initially, the invitation to participate in the Board of Peace meeting was extended by the U.S. president to the Belarusian head of state,” the statement reads.

“No further comment needed,” Belarus’ Foreign Ministry noted.
