Lukashenko: world endlessly turning into testing ground for global confrontation

During today’s expanded meeting with the heads of state bodies of the national security system, the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, noted the growing military tension in the world and around Belarus

The Head of State stressed, “Look at the increasing trend in the number of hot spots. Over the past year alone, more than 25 military conflicts have been launched or continued in different regions and continents, and almost each is used as a reason to introduce a peacekeeping contingent... This is done to place people with weapons and to designate one’s own zone of influence, thus endlessly turning the world into a testing ground for global confrontation.”

The President drew attention to the events in the Middle East, “Threats of using nuclear weapons are already being openly voiced. Entire cities are being wiped off the face of the earth together with their residents. It turns out that this can be done without falling under sanctions and without becoming an outcast in the eyes of the so-called civilised society – the bearers of ‘true’ democratic values.”

According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, the situation on the European continent, including near our borders, is no calmer, “In the immediate vicinity of Belarus and Russia – as part of the NATO operations carried out in Europe – about 32 thousand military troops of the combined armed forces of NATO and the United States are stationed. This is more than 1 thousand units of armoured vehicles, about 160 artillery systems and mortars, 235 aircraft and helicopters. All this suggests that we are actually in the epicentre of a protracted major military-political crisis using methods of intimidation as old as this world.”

According to the Head of State, the forecasts are disappointing, “The collective West’s appetite and activity will only increase, with Washington and its allies continuing to expand NATO. The situation is more than favourable for them. I’ll say it straightforwardly, without unnecessary diplomacy: almost all European leaders have turned into US vassals. There is no doubt about whose policies and whose interests dominate on EU territory.”
