"We are not threatening anyone, and we will never do this. This is not our policy," the Head of State stressed. “Even objectively, we cannot threaten anyone. However, we are obliged to protect ourselves – whether we are strong or weak. This is our historical role. This is the role of our generations living in Belarus now. Therefore, no matter what internal political events our neighbours may have, the peoples – Poles, Latvians, Lithuanians, Ukrainians – must understand: we are the most peaceful nation on the planet. We are not rattling nuclear weapons or any units (such as PMC Wagner or others), and we are not threatening anyone.”

Speaking of that, the President invited those present to recall the lessons of the past, “We did not threaten anyone even then, but we were virtually wiped off the face of the earth. We lost every third our resident during the last war. Carelessness and complacency played not a minor role in the fact that we almost lost Belarus. That's why we remember it. We studied history, and we are learning it now. We will always be ready to defend our Fatherland and our territory.”

Addressing all Belarusians as President and Commander-in-Chief, Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed, “We do not want to fight, and we will not fight. There will be no war in modern conditions on the territory of Belarus, because it is impossible. If God forbid something happens, we will all become a Brest Fortress, we will defend our land, which belongs to our children, to the last soldier and man. We will do this in the name of peace in our native land, in the name of Belarus, which we are building on the foundation of victories, achievements, experience and memory of our heroic ancestors.”
