Lukashenko told how the economy manages to adapt to crises

6 April, 20:00

Since last year, the governments of Belarus and Russia have actually been working in the mode of anti-crisis headquarters and have achieved noticeable results in adapting the economy and building new trade and logistics routes – as stated by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, at a meeting of the Supreme State Council of the Union State, which is taking place in Moscow today

In particular, the Belarusian Head of State noted, “Actually, we noted yesterday that today there is nothing to reproach the governments with. The main issues that were outlined have been settled. There are some ‘tails’ left, but, as our PM [Roman Golovchenko] says, thanks God, we will finish them off in spring.”

Due to such collaboration, the parties have renewed many co-operation ties, transferred settlements in the trade of strategic goods to Russian Roubles, and a number of large investment projects are being implemented with the involvement of Russian credit resources. In 2022, the Union State Council of Ministers and the Supreme State Council adopted 56 normative legal acts aimed at the development of the Union State construction.

According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, today’s agenda is quite extensive. The parties will consider both traditional issues and completely new, but important topics. The focus will be made on the results of the implementation of the Priority Guidelines and top-priority tasks for the further development of the Union State for 2018-2022. One of the key issues is an interim report on the realisation of the Guidelines for Implementing the Provisions of the Treaty Establishing the Union State in 2021-2023 and the Union State programmes.
