Lukashenko to new Gosstandart Chair: we need to protect and develop ours

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has appointed Yelena Morgunova as Chairperson of the State Committee for Standardisation (Gosstandart). Before this appointment, she worked as Gosstandart First Deputy Chairperson, so is well aware of the peculiarities of its activities.

“Standardisation is a serious issue for us. This also deals with the protection of our market. Some countries simply barbarically use these methods [to protect their markets]. We shouldn’t do this. Anyway, we shouldn’t forget that we need to protect and develop ours,” the Belarusian leader asserted.
