Lukashenko studied capabilities of Belarusian drones

During his visit to the Obuz-Lesnovsky combined arms training ground near Baranovichi, the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, examined the domestic developments of the State Authority for Military Industry. The Head of State paid special attention to the review of unmanned aerial devices of the Belarusian, Russian and Chinese manufacture. Speaking about domestic UAVs, Aleksandr Lukashenko, among other things, wondered about the volume of production, their capacity, efficiency, reliability, degree of localisation, and also asked Dmitry Pantus, the Chairman of the State Authority for Military Industry, about the export component.

“We will sell to those who buy. Of course, it is undesirable, that our samples are used in Ukraine: after all, these our people. You don’t just show a sample in a single copy, do you? Can any sample be now sent at the front to fight? God forbid, I’m reported that you were showing off here; it will be a disaster.”

The presented models include reconnaissance drones, missile strike systems and a reconnaissance and strike unmanned helicopter – unrivalled worldwide. A similar technique is available only in the USA, but its effectiveness is much lower. At the same time, the Belarusian Head of State was told an interesting fact: the Americans do not share this development even with partners.

As the President was informed, some of the items are currently in service, some are being tested, while others have been handed over to the army for trial operation. The software and control systems of Belarusian drones are also of Belarusian production.

Aleksandr Lukashenko was also shown other models of weapons, military and special equipment used by the Armed Forces and developed by the organisations of the country’s defence sector.
