Lukashenko sent greetings to participants of Minsk International Book Fair and Symposium of Writers

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has sent greetings to the participants and guests of the 31st Minsk International Book Fair and the 10th Writer and Time International Symposium, the Belarusian leader’s press service reports

“Dear friends! I cordially welcome the guests and participants of the 31st Minsk International Book Fair and the 10th Writer and Time International Symposium,” the greeting reads.

According to the Head of State, this unique cultural and business platform in the very heart of Belarus once again united the best ideas, talents, and novelties from the world of literature and publishing, while organising a holiday for true book lovers.

“The theme of the 80th anniversary of Belarus’ liberation from the Nazi invaders gives particular significance to this year’s event. The works of Belarusian classic writers are inextricably linked with it, and this topic received a new interpretation in the works of contemporaries,” stressed the President.

The Belarusian leader believes today it is important that thoughtful words of writers determine the spiritual and moral foundations of human life, fostering a sense of responsibility for the fate of the country and contributing to the consolidation of society amid modern threats and challenges.

“I’m confident the forum will be successful, it will be remembered by its participants and guests for its substantial dialogue and will contribute to the strengthening of international cultural ties,” added the Head of State.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished everyone fruitful work, pleasant meetings and interesting discoveries.
