"Dear President Xi Jinping!

Dear heads of state, heads of government, ladies and gentlemen!

Let me congratulate all participants and guests on the opening of the 5th China International Import Expo in Shanghai. This event has gained a strong foothold in the calendar of economic events, and it now represents one of the most popular formats of interaction.

I am glad that, after two years of forced pause in communication, we are making up for the lack of contacts with the help of such meetings, we are ready to share our experience, present our developments and achievements in a number of areas.

A global socio-economic crisis caused by the pandemic and the intensification of geopolitical confrontation has revealed a special need for effective international co-ordination, equal and respectful partnership.

Being an important part of the Eurasian space, our state stood at the origins of the creation of the Eurasian Economic Union. We pay special attention to projects within the Chinese Belt and Road initiative, among which the most significant is the Great Stone Industrial Park located in our country.

Belarus is ready to expand joint work on the supply of high-quality products and implementation of new projects in the field of e-commerce.

We are ready to continue close co-operation with all interested parties to diversify regular transit routes and introduce innovative logistics approaches.

Belarus has been participating in the China International Import Expo in Shanghai since its creation, annually presenting here the country’s key achievements and developments.

Our participation in the 2022 exhibition is taking place at the beginning of a new stage in the development of Belarusian-Chinese co-operation. Being reliable and proven allies, ‘iron brothers’, we work effectively in the field of co-operation, innovation and logistics.

This year, two dozen well-known Belarusian manufacturers are participating in the Shanghai event. The exhibitors are presenting our advanced developments in the production of high-tech equipment, IT and medicine.

Participants and visitors will be able to personally see ultra-small orbital spacecraft, a series of anti-cancer drugs, Belarusian electric scooters, and many more.

A stand of the Great Stone Industrial Park deserves special attention. It features the achievements and developments of its residents, which clearly demonstrate the park’s investment potential.

Our country – with its centuries-old agrarian traditions – is one of the world's top exporters of dairy products and potash fertilisers, and it is making a significant contribution to ensuring world food security.

The national exposition and its hospitality – which is natural for Belarusians – will demonstrate food products that meet the international environmental standards and that Chinese customers already appreciate.

A virtual pavilion of Belarus will also work as part of the exhibition. It will present the achievements of industry, scientific and technical innovations, tourism and cultural potential of our state.

Dear friends!

I am convinced that the China International Import Expo in Shanghai will give a powerful impetus to the expansion of international economic co-operation and technological liaisons.

In conclusion, I would like to thank the organisers of the event, and also wish all its participants and guests fruitful work, new professional successes and profitable deals.

Thank you for your attention,” the President of Belarus said in his greeting.
