Lukashenko reviewed progress on projects to develop Belarus’ Polesie

On October 4th, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko reviewed the progress on the Polesie [a marshy region lining the Pripyat River in southern Belarus] development projects — in particular, on two cowsheds for 384 head each and a milking and dairy unit that are being constructed under the Presidential Decree of May 5th, 2025, in the agro-town of Lyaskovichi

The President of Belarus placed an emphasis on modernising the Lyaskovichi Dairy Farm owned by the Agro-Lyaskovichi agricultural enterprise during his working visit to the Petrikov District, the Gomel Region, in May this year. The Belarusian leader was briefed that the farm intends to adopt best practices based on the model of the Parokhonskoye Farm in the Pinsk District.

“The prospect here is very simple,”  Yuri Nazarov, Head of the Belarus President Property Management Directorate, noted at the time. “First, we need to make money. Milk is quick money. Accordingly, we need to create an environment for keeping livestock and employing people. We have decided that by the end of the year we will build two barns with a milking and dairy unit made of wooden structures. But in order to have milk, we need to feed the cattle. Therefore, the second point is a feeding area.”

The President of Belarus set a clear task to complete the facility by the end of the year.

On September 23rd, Aleksandr Lukashenko received a report from Yuri Nazarov that touched upon the progress on constructing new facilities at the Agro-Lyaskovichi agricultural enterprise.

On April 17th, 2023, the Agro-Lyaskovichi agricultural enterprise became part of the Belarus President Property Management Directorate’s agricultural and industrial holding. The company specialises in producing milk and meat, and cultivating grain and fodder crops. In the first eight months of this year, the company’s gross agricultural output increased by almost a quarter compared to the same period in 2024.
