Lukashenko, Putin enjoy absolutely unique relationship, Peskov says
The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has absolutely unique relationships with Russian President Vladimir Putin – as stated by the press secretary of the President of Russia, Dmitry Peskov, in an interview with the Belarus 1 TV channel, BelTA reports
"Aleksandr Grigoryevich is in an absolutely unique relationship with our President. Their relations are really unique. Primarily, they understand the heart of what is happening in our countries and around us – as nobody else. I am convinced that Aleksandr Grigoryevich’s heart aches for the Ukrainian events no less than Vladimir Vladimirovich's. It is really so. They understand each other. They also understand the controversion we might have. However, the continuation of their friendly dialogue has always been a key for them. Although, believe me, they sometimes say not fully pleasant things to each other, expressing these in a tough manner – since there are, after all, the interests of Belarus and the interests of Russia. They defend the interests of their countries very harshly," Mr. Peskov added.
"This is a kind of communication that is actually the key to our good bilateral future,” the Russian President’s press secretary noted.
