Aleksandr Lukashenko said, “I think we have no need to get to know each other. There is no need to talk about our capabilities and Venezuela's capabilities in our co-operation. We have known each other for a long time and have done a lot already to intensify our interaction.”

At the same time, as the Head of State added, there has been a pause in interaction due to certain, primarily external, reasons, “I feel that we need to revise all the areas and issues of co-operation that we have defined since the time of Hugo Chavez. It is necessary to clearly determine what we should and can do for Venezuela, and what Venezuela should do in relation to Belarus. We need to develop an appropriate plan, a roadmap of our actions for the near, medium-term, maybe long-term perspective. We are not against including other states – for example, Cuba – into this scheme.”

Aleksandr Lukashenko added that, if the Venezuelan partners agree, the Belarusian side is ready to implement the relevant agreements by the end of this year.
