Lukashenko on increasing car production: there’s a market, go ahead!

Today it is necessary to step up and increase car production, taking into account that a number of manufacturers have left the Russian market – as noted by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, during his working trip to the Minsk Region and visit to BELGEE JSC

Industry Minister Aleksandr Rogozhnik reported to the Head of State on the development of machine building in the country. Last year, all targets were met, with exports reaching their highest levels in the past two decades. Russian loan funds were also received for the creation of import-substituting projects.

The Head of State focuses manufacturers on the need to take advantage of the situation when a range of manufacturers are leaving the Russian market, “There’s a market, we are in demand. Those [foreign producers] have left, they [Russian consumers] need us. They want to do business with us. We have competencies, we have preserved them. We need to take advantage of this!”

The President also directs the Government towards more active work in terms of import substitution in many areas of the economy: from industry to the military-industrial complex.
