Lukashenko: now is time of courageous and determined people capable of standing up for the country’s honour
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the 2nd CIS Games, the President of Belarus expressed confidence that the guests of our country would feel warmth, comfort and, most importantly, peace of mind on Belarusian land
Aleksandr Lukashenko stated, “We have done and will continue to do everything for this and for the CIS Games to become a real symbol of friendship, peace and creation. The motto of our Games – Strong Character – Bright Game! – isn’t just about sports. This is about each of us. The time has come for courageous and determined people, people capable of standing up for the honour of the country, for the victories of their fathers and the future of their children. This is our time.”
The Head of State wished good luck and great personal achievements to all athletes participating in the event.
“I want to tell you: don’t worry. We – neither Russians, nor Belarusians, nor others – cannot be excluded from the international Olympic and sports movement. You will always be in demand. You will always be in sports,” Aleksandr Lukashenko underlined.
The President also wished the coaches wisdom and patience, and a bright spectacle, unforgettable impressions and a huge sea of positive emotions to the fans.
