Lukashenko: no need to shy away from propaganda and agitation

Belarus has and should have its own ideology – as noted by President Aleksandr Lukashenko during today’s meeting with the country’s youth activists. One of the questions concerned the work of the media and journalists in the Presidential press pool

Aleksandr Lukashenko said that he watches the work of journalists, evaluates and sometimes criticises. The President noted that after 2020,  an entire pool of journalists who looked differently at life and the events taking place around them appeared. At the same time, Aleksandr Lukashenko urged ‘not to push away’ from propaganda and counter-propaganda, “Yes, we’re engaged in propaganda and agitation. It’s natural. We promote our best. We encourage people to create and produce the best. We have and should have our own ideology.”

However, the President underlined that this work should not contain formalism, which was often the case in Soviet times.
