Lukashenko changed timber sale rules, enabling individuals to buy commercial timber from forestries

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has signed Decree No. 294, which sets out new rules for the sale of timber – as reported in the Belarusian leader’s press service

The document was adopted in order to improve the procedure for selling timber to individuals and legal entities, as well as to meet the demand for it in the domestic market.

The decree simplifies the procedure for the sale of commercial wood for individuals who can directly contact the forestries for its purchase. The list of legal entities and individual entrepreneurs to whom it is possible to sell timber outside the exchange auction from the fund of the regional executive committees is being specified. Moreover, exchange mechanisms for holding trading sessions for the sale of timber to the domestic market are being optimised.

The changes come into force one month after the official publication of the decree.
