Lukashenko extended condolences over human losses as a result of earthquake in Turkiye and Syria

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has sent condolences to the Turkish and Syrian leaders, Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Bashar al-Assad, over the human losses as a result of an earthquake in these countries, BelTA reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

“Belarus has received with great pain the sad news about the consequences of one of the most devastating earthquakes in the south-east of Turkiye, which led to numerous human casualties, destroyed historical and cultural monuments, infrastructure and life support facilities," the message of condolences to the President of Turkiye reads. On behalf of the Belarusian people and himself, Aleksandr Lukashenko extended sincere condolences and words of support to the Turkish leader, relatives and friends of those who died. He wished a speedy recovery to all the victims, as well as the restoration of the infrastructure destroyed by the earthquake.

"On behalf of the Belarusian people and on my own behalf, I express sincere condolences to you and all Syrians over the death of a large number of people as a result of the devastating earthquake in northern Syria," the message of condolences to the Syrian President reads. "I convey words of support to the relatives and friends of the victims, I wish a speedy recovery to all those affected by the disaster, and I wish the restoration of the destroyed infrastructure and a return to a normal way of life to the country."
