Lukashenko: everyone should see prospects and act strategically, and 2023 will then become another development step

Every step of the authorities should be verified and well thought of, while all should see the prospects and act strategically, and then the year 2023 will become another step in development – as stressed by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, at today’s meeting of the Council of Ministers on the 2022 economic results and the solution of urgent tasks of socio-economic development this year

The Head of State emphasised that, according to the monitoring results, enterprises – especially in the regions – criticise the banking system’s operation. “There are two main complaints: insufficient assistance from banks in finding payment routes (there are even complaints about a poor consulting support), and delayed deadlines for reviewing loan applications (banks often even fail to inform applicants on the results).”

The President set a simple and clear task for the National Bank: to create a single centre to assist enterprises in making payments and, if rational, to attentively review the financing procedure. “Businesses cannot wait weeks and months for their application to be approved or rejected. The banking system must generate resources that are optimal in terms of time and cost to meet the effective demand for loans. Every step we take today must be verified and calculated. Everyone should see the prospects and act strategically, and then this year will become another step in our development. If we miss something now, it will be difficult to catch up later,” Aleksandr Lukashenko addressed those present.

Such conclusions are obvious, as noted by the Head of State, if the documents presented to him for consideration are analysed in short. Addressing the participants of the meeting, Aleksandr Lukashenko asked them to give a brief objective assessment of the results of 2022, stressing that an analysis of the situation is important, on the basis of which it is possible to better specify the goals for the vertical of power.
