Lukashenko demanded to exclude loss of cattle in the country and outlined a working scheme
There should be no loss of livestock in the country. One of the mechanisms for solving the problem is the transfer of young calves to strong farms, where these could be grown up – as noted by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, during his visit to the Olekshitsy agricultural enterprise in the Grodno Region.
According to the Head of State, there are many farms in the country where the mortality of young cattle is at an unacceptable level. Addressing Deputy Prime Minister Leonid Zayats, who oversees the agro-industrial complex, Aleksandr Lukashenko stated, “The most important conclusion is that we still have a high level of livestock mortality… We are persuading the heads of farms; these heads are already being imprisoned. Why are you keeping those calves there? It is necessary to take calves from farms that cannot take care of them properly, and give them to it [to such a farm as the Olekshitsy agricultural enterprise]!
The Belarusian leader fundamentally stressed, “In general, there should not be loss of cattle, other than in exceptional circumstances. Young cattle must be taken away unless they [in negligent farms] work out the technology ... Calves should be taken away from those who do not know how to take care of them. This is for sure. The attitude towards a newborn calf should be similar to that of a child.”
The President stressed that this issue must be settled promptly, and he does not intend to have more conversations on this topic either with the leadership of the Food and Agriculture Ministry or with the governors.
