Lukashenko congratulates Wickremesinghe on his election as President of Sri Lanka

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has congratulated Ranil Wickremesinghe on winning the Presidential elections in the Democratic Socialist Republic of Sri Lanka – as reported by the Belarusian leader’s press service

The Head of State noted that warm and constructive relations have developed between the two countries over the past two decades. Co-operation in the political, economic, sci-tech, educational and tourism spheres is successfully developing.

"I hope your beautiful country will soon overcome all negative consequences of the economic crisis, and the Belarusian-Lankan co-operation will be marked by new achievements with your direct support,” the congratulatory message reads.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished good health and success in his responsible state position to Ranil Wickremesinghe, and civil harmony, prosperity and progress to the people of Sri Lanka.
