"This day is inextricably linked with the idea of state neutrality, which forms the basis of your country’s foreign and domestic policy and which acquires special significance in these troubled times," the congratulatory message reads.

The Head of State noted that Belarus and Austria are united not only by thirty years of diplomatic relations, development of economic, cultural and humanitarian ties, but also by deeper historical contacts. "We remember well the help to our children who suffered from the Chernobyl disaster. We appreciate the long-term work of the Austrian business in Belarus," Aleksandr Lukashenko stressed. “At present, when attempts are made to separate and set us against each other, it is more important than ever to preserve and strengthen our relations in all spheres of life. Belarus is ready to continue co-operation with Austria for the benefit of both countries."

On behalf of the Belarusian people and himself, the President wished peace, prosperity, well-being and confidence in the future to Austrians.
