Lukashenko congratulated Zimbabwean President Emmerson Mnangagwa on Independence Day

On behalf of the Belarusian people and himself, President of Belarus Aleksandr Lukashenko has congratulated President of Zimbabwe Emmerson Mnangagwa and the friendly people of this country on Independence Day, sb.by reports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press service

The Head of State noted that, 44 years ago, Zimbabwe threw off its colonial shackles and gained the opportunity to independently pursue its own foreign and domestic policies aimed at ensuring the country’s sustainable development and improving the well-being of its citizens. "Belarus is pleased to observe the successful dynamic changes in various sectors of the Zimbabwean economy," the congratulatory message reads.

The President drew attention to the important role of the exchange of high-level visits to strengthen bilateral contacts and expressed hope for an early meeting with Emmerson Mnangagwa on hospitable Belarusian land.

“I am convinced that the practical implementation of the agreements reached earlier and the results of your future visit to Belarus will contribute to our strategic long-term partnership and fruitful co-operation," the Belarusian leader stressed.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Emmerson Mnangagwa good health and success, also wishing happiness and prosperity to the people of Zimbabwe.
