Lukashenko sent greetings to Pakistan’s PM-elect Shehbaz Sharif

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has congratulated Mian Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif, on his election as Prime Minister of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan, as well as on the successful completion of the election campaign and the formation of the Government of Pakistan, the Belarusian leader’s press service reports

"I wish you to implement all plans and projects for the further development of your beautiful country, meeting the needs of the Pakistani society. I am convinced that co-operation with Minsk will help with it. Islamabad has been our reliable partner for thirty years, and I am pleased to note that the governments of Belarus and Pakistan are faithfully fulfilling the agreement on the intensification of bilateral ties, which we reached during our personal meetings in Samarkand and Astana in 2022," the congratulatory message reads.

In 2023, a session of the joint Belarusian-Pakistani intergovernmental commission on trade and economic co-operation was held in Minsk, in addition to an official visit of Belarus’ Foreign Minister to Islamabad and other bilateral events.

"I confirm my readiness to visit Pakistan this year. I am convinced that our meeting will contribute to deepening co-operation in the fields of industry, pharmaceuticals, agriculture, petrochemistry, electric transport, education, science and technology," the Head of State stressed.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Shehbaz Sharif good health and success in his responsible government post, as well as peace and prosperity to the Pakistani people.
