Lukashenko congratulated President of Cuba on national holiday: Liberation Day

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has congratulated the President of Cuba, Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez, on the national holiday: Liberation Day of the Republic of Cuba, Belarusian leader’s press service reports

"65 years ago, an event of historic scales took place: the freedom-loving Cuban people won a triumphant victory, managing to rebuild the structure of their state and bringing the principles of social equality, justice and humanism to the fore," the congratulatory message reads.

As noted by the Belarusian leader, since that time, Freedom Island has continued to experience continuous political and economic pressure. “Nevertheless, I am sincerely convinced that your hardworking people, on their own, as well as with the help of numerous friends around the world, including Belarus, will be able to withstand any obstacles and raise the Cuban economy to a qualitatively new level," the President stressed.

The Head of State expressed hope that the intensification of bilateral relations, which is currently observed between Minsk and Havana, will produce concrete results in the form of stable and creative development of both countries and the growth of their citizens’ well-being.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Miguel Mario Diaz-Canel Bermudez and all Cubans good health and success.
