Lukashenko congratulated President of Colombia on Independence Day

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, on behalf of the Belarusian people and himself, has sent Independence Day greetings to President of Colombia Gustavo Petro – as reported by the Belarusian leader’s press service

“Belarus – committed to the ideas of mutually beneficial development and peaceful settlement of any conflicts – highly appreciates the significant steps taken by the Colombian leadership to establish harmony and tranquillity on Colombian soil,” the congratulatory message reads.

The Head of State noted that to the social policy of the President of Colombia – which is focused on improving the living standards of the most vulnerable groups of the population – is very close to Belarus.

“Minsk is keen on reaching a new level of co-operation with Bogota and more fully realising the possibilities of bilateral interaction in trade-economic, sci-tech, cultural and other fields,” the Belarusian leader stressed.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Gustavo Petro strong health and fruitful activities in the performance of a responsible state mission, as well as peace and prosperity to the people of Colombia.
