“All this time you have been fruitfully working for the benefit of peace, tranquillity and justice, sharing light and wisdom with people," the Belarusian leader stressed.

"Our views on many aspects coincide: firstly, in the need of a sincere search for peace in Ukraine and making every possible effort to establish it on the part of both political leaders and ordinary citizens; secondly, in the necessity to ensure a deep rethinking of existing relations in global politics. I agree with you that the whole world is fraternal ties based on forgiveness, unity, reconciliation, and not on oppression, absorption and imposition of one one’s views. This is one of the messages that Belarus adheres to within the framework of the declared Year of Peace and Creation," Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.

The President also stressed, “Unfortunately, not everyone shares our desire to listen and hear each other, negotiate and co-operate. For many years we have been trying to explain to the West the futility of pressure on Belarus, the importance of dialogue based on mutual respect, traditions, values and national interests of each country."

"I am sure that your noble work to ensure peace and well-being of all people of goodwill will bring its result. On this festive day, I sincerely wish you, Your Holiness, health and strength for many years," the Head of State stressed.
