Lukashenko congratulated Nazarbayev on his birthday

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has congratulated the first President of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev on his birthday – as reported by the Belarusian leader’ press service

“Dear friend, please accept my most sincere congratulations on your birthday. Thanks to your direct participation, the Republic of Kazakhstan has passed the crisis periods with dignity, having gained a solid place in the modern world order and recognised authority. You have made a lot of efforts to shape the image of Kazakhstan in the international arena. In many ways, your merit is that Kazakhstan today is a state that has retained its industrial potential with a market economy, the foundations of civil society, ethnic and religious harmony,” the congratulatory message reads.

Aleksandr Lukashenko noted that Nursultan Nazarbayev – striving to maintain economic ties in the post-Soviet space – set the outlines of the economic dimension of the Eurasian Economic Union and stood at the origins of the creation of such a multilateral association as the Shanghai Co-operation Organisation.

“I highly appreciate our warm, friendly relations and value our contacts. I wish you strong health and good spirits, mutual understanding and support among your family and friends,” the Head of State stressed.
