Lukashenko congratulated China’s President Xi Jinping on Spring Festival

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has congratulated the Chairman of the People’s Republic of China, Xi Jinping, on the Spring Festival – as reported by the Belarusian leader’s press service

“Your Excellency, please accept my heartfelt congratulations on the occasion of the Spring Festival, which brings the Lunar New Year. China is playing an increasingly important role in ensuring balance, peace and justice in the international arena. Holding high the great banner of socialism with Chinese peculiarities, your country has successfully implemented centuries-old paradigms and new strategic priorities,” the congratulatory message reads.

As noted by the Belarusian President, the patronage of the Dragon traditionally promises better times for making wise, far-sighted and courageous decisions. “The coming year – celebrating the 75th anniversary of the founding of the People’s Republic of China – will be marked by the implementation of comprehensive modernisation and significant transformations of the new era,” he said, adding that the past year has become an important milestone in deepening the all-weather and comprehensive strategic partnerships between Belarus and China. Minsk and Beijing have reached an even higher level of political trust and co-ordination of international activities, while expanding the scope of multi-vector interaction.

“Another period begins in strengthening relations between our countries, which will be filled with bright events and achievements. I’m confident that in 2024 we’ll boost technological and investment liaisons, successfully hold the Year of Co-operation in the field of technology and innovation, and enrich humanitarian interaction,” noted the President of Belarus.

According to the Head of State, the approval of a plan for the development of applied Belarusian-Chinese co-operation until 2030 – as part of our agreement with you – will become one of the key foundations for the future. “We’re ready to offer a number of new directions in the context of the emergence of Belarus as an important investment site for China in the region,” he added.

“I remember our meetings with warmth and look forward to continuing a confidential and meaningful dialogue to discuss current issues on the global and bilateral agenda,” the President summed up.

Aleksandr Lukashenko wished Xi Jinping strong health and further success in responsible government activities, as well as peace and prosperity to the friendly people of China.
