“This holiday turns us to a significant date, which has become the most important milestone in the history of the Belarusian nation, which – having gone through pain and trials – gained statehood, sovereignty and world recognition,” the Head of State underlined.

According to him, the events of September 17th, 1939 laid a solid foundation for the achievements and successes of modern Belarus and predetermined its future path of development.

“Our unity is based on loyalty to the memory of our ancestors, rich cultural heritage, perseverance and hard work, and traditional values close to each of us,” added the Belarusian leader.

Aleksandr Lukashenko believes that Belarusians have learned to be together not only in struggle, but also in creation, in their aspirations and achieving goals. Our common task is to increase the potential and glory of our native land via dialogue and mutual understanding, to preserve its identity and international authority.
