Lukashenko congratulated 11th Separate Guards Mechanised Brigade on jubilee

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, has congratulated the personnel and veterans of the 11th Separate Guards Carpathian-Berlin Red Banner, Order of Suvorov II Degree Mechanised Brigade on its 80th anniversary – as reported by the Belarusian leader’s press service

The Head of State noted that the history of this famous brigade is an example of selfless service to the Fatherland. “The 6th Tank Corps, created in April 1942 near Moscow, began its combat path with the heaviest battles near Rzhev, and it was later reformed into the 11th Guards Carpathian-Berlin Tank Division that took part in the Battle on the Kursk Bulge, liberated Ukraine and Poland from the Nazi invaders and greeted victorious May of 1945 in Berlin,” the congratulatory message reads.

The President stated that the personnel of the unit still cherishes the traditions of veterans – successfully mastering modern military hardware and weapons and consistently showing high results during large-scale exercises. Thanks to the latter, the brigade is deservedly recognised as one of the best in Belarus’ Armed Forces.
