Lukashenko calmly reacted to Pashinyan's refusal to attend CSTO Summit in Minsk

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, calmly reacted to the refusal of Armenian Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan to attend the session of the CSTO Collective Security Council scheduled to be held in Minsk on November 23rd, BelTAreports with reference to the Belarusian leader’s press secretary, Natalya Eismont

It is known that Aleksandr Lukashenko and Nikol Pashinyan had a telephone conversation on November 14th. The sides discussed the situation in the Caucasus, bilateral relations and the agenda of the upcoming CSTO Summit.

It is not the first time the Armenian leader has refused to take part in integration events: in October, he missed the CIS Summit in Bishkek.

Ms. Eismont said, “The President understands that it is up to a head of any state to decide. The invitation was addressed to the Prime Minister of Armenia in the same way as it was to other heads of state – i.e. the President of Russia, who was invited during a recent telephone conversation. He accepted the invitation."

"Based on his experience and the actions of some other well-known politicians in similar situations, the President suggested to the Prime Minister of Armenia not to hurry, not to make hasty decisions, but to seriously consider the next steps that may be aimed at disintegration," the press secretary added.
