In connection with the commissioning of the Belarusian nuclear power plant (BelNPP), electricity production in the country is increasing, and these reserves will be used, particularly, for heating residential buildings – as stated today by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, while being reported on the completion of the BelNPP construction and increasing the availability of electricity for heating residential buildings

Aleksandr Lukashenko noted, “In general, we already had enough electricity for industry, agriculture, and people. Now some reserves are appearing. Electricity consumption will increase. We made a certain focus: to support our people.”

In this regard, the Head of State recalled that during a recent working trip to the Minsk District, new residential buildings with electric heating were demonstrated, “This is a miracle. Everything is clean and neat; it can’t even be compared with gas boilers, let alone coal. The climate is changing for us. Therefore, heating in the house using electricity is profitable, clean, and safe. That’s why, they made the right bet on offering electricity to people. Moreover, prices are affordable; people say that it’s cheaper than gas heating.”
