Lukashenko: Belarus, Tajikistan can expand trade by entering markets of third countries

Belarus and Tajikistan can increase their trade by entering the markets of third countries – as stated by the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, during his today’s talks with the President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, in Dushanbe, BelTA reports

"We are all time increasing our trade, and this growth is significant – although, as you have noticed, the volume of trade could be larger. Of course, we can do much more, especially in this difficult time. Your interests are not only in Belarus, but also beyond. We have a great interest in Tajikistan. As we once set a task to our governments, we can expand our trade turnover at the expense of third countries," Aleksandr Lukashenko noted.

According to the Belarusian leader, it is necessary to enter other markets with joint products. "Neighbouring countries are in great need. I think our today’s meeting, large scales of our delegation that has come to the exhibition that we organised, and the forum will contribute to the growth of not only bilateral trade, but also trade through Tajikistan to Afghanistan and other countries. Afghanistan needs our products very much, and it is interested in developing our joint ties for the purpose of trade. I think we will also discuss regional issues. I will inform you on the situation in that region, and you will tell me about what is happening here. Tajikistan and Belarus have found themselves in the same conditions in this difficult situation," the President stressed.
