Lukashenko: Belarus ready to host international competitions of highest level

The Belarusian side is ready to consider Kalmykia’s proposals in the areas of education, sports, tourism, medical services, and cultural exchanges as soon as possible – as stated by the President of Belarus at a meeting with the Head of the Republic of Kalmykia, Batu Khasikov

Addressing the guest, Aleksandr Lukashenko noted, “I think that you, as a professional athlete, will be interested in our sports infrastructure, experience in training athletes in many disciplines, and organisation of youth physical education. All conditions for this have been created in our country. Last month, you personally visited the Minsk Arena, the Olympic Park ice rink and were able to see this. We are always happy to host international competitions of the highest level, as well as individual training camps of Russian teams.”

Batu Khasikov is a six-time world champion in kickboxing. In this regard, Aleksandr Lukashenko remarked, “Of course, in your sport, which you practised, and do not forget now, your experience is simply amazing for us. It’s of very great value, and if you help us, we will be grateful to you.”

According to the President, Belarusian athletes began to train and compete in many sports closer to the Russians, “I think that this year we will reach the highest level in organising these events. We’ll gradually pull our neighbours towards us, as well as representatives of Asian and African states. If Europeans or Latin Americans would like to join us – they are welcome. Together with Russian we are always open to athletes.”
