Lukashenko and Belarusian people continue to receive congratulations on Great Victory

The President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko, and the Belarusian people continue to receive numerous congratulations on the 77th anniversary of Victory in the Great Patriotic War – as reported by the Belarusian leader’s press service

Wishes of peace, well-being and prosperity to the Belarusian people are sent by foreign leaders, heads of integration associations, well-known personalities.

The President of the Russian Federation, Vladimir Putin, stressed in his congratulatory message that Great Victory Day is a truly sacred holiday for all Russians and Belarusians, “Our common duty today is to prevent the revival of Nazism which has brought so much suffering to people in different countries. We need to preserve the truth about the war years, common spiritual values and traditions of fraternal friendship, and to pass these to our younger generation. This is a key to further progressive development of friendly Russian-Belarusian relations and consolidation of the Union State. I am convinced that we can jointly overcome any challenges and ensure a decent future for our citizens.”

In his congratulatory message addressed to Belarus’ Head of State, the President of Kazakhstan, Kassym-Jomart Tokayev, noted, “This sacred day is forever inscribed in history as a symbol of the extraordinary feat, exceptional perseverance and courage of our peoples who saved the world from fascism. I believe the glorious traditions of brotherhood and mutual assistance will continue to remain a reliable foundation of friendship and strategic partnership between Kazakhstan and Belarus."

"I firmly believe that the memory of the feat of our fathers and grandfathers will always live beyond borders and time, uniting the peoples of Kazakhstan and Belarus even stronger,” the first president of Kazakhstan, Nursultan Nazarbayev, said in turn.

The President of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, noted in his congratulatory message that the holiday of May 9th occupies a special place in the glorious history of our peoples who saved humanity from the horrors of fascism by their unparalleled courage and heroism, steadfastness and dedication during terrible years of the bloody and destructive war. “The memory of the Great Victory will forever remain in our hearts. I am convinced that the good traditions of friendship and mutual support of our peoples manifested during severe trials in the long years of war will continue to serve as a solid foundation for strengthening relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Belarus,” he said in a message.

Greetings have also been sent by Armenia’s Prime Minister Nikol Pashinyan. “An immortal feat of our fathers and grandfathers, all those who heroically fought shoulder to shoulder on the battlefield and selflessly worked in the rear, will forever remain in our hearts. The memory of the Great Victory obliges us to strengthen the inherited ties of friendship to comprehensively develop the Armenian-Belarusian relations for the benefit of our peoples," his congratulatory message reads.

The President of Tajikistan, Emomali Rahmon, stressed that the bright memory of a glorious feat of our forefathers committed in the name of peace, freedom and happy future for future generations will forever remain in people’s hearts, “I believe the relations of friendship and strategic partnership between our states will further develop fruitfully in line with our common interests.”

"With a feeling of boundless gratitude and great sorrow, we remember the heroes who were killed on the battlefields, we honour war and labour veterans whose unparalleled courage is an inexhaustible source of spiritual strength for us. I am convinced that the traditional relations of friendship and partnership between Uzbekistan and Belarus will continue to develop comprehensively," the President of Uzbekistan, Shavkat Mirziyoyev, noted in his congratulatory message.

In turn, the President of Kyrgyzstan, Sadyr Japarov, stressed that Victory Day has been and remains a model of supreme patriotism, honour, courage, dedication and love for the Motherland. “I am convinced that the Kyrgyz-Belarusian relations based on strong ties of friendship and mutually beneficial co-operation will continue to develop for the benefit of our countries and peoples," his message reads.

The President of Turkmenistan, Serdar Berdimuhamedov, also conveyed warm congratulations and best wishes of health, happiness and well-being to veterans and all people of Belarus, “On this day, we remember – with deep respect and pride – our common heroes who demonstrated exemplary courage, bravery and unbending will in the name of the peaceful life of future generations, as well as our home front workers who made an invaluable contribution to our long-awaited Victory with their tireless, selfless work.”

The Chairman of the Halk Maslahaty Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan, Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov, wished Aleksandr Lukashenko, veterans and all Belarusians good health, happiness and prosperity. "I believe that the eternal memory of heroism of our ancestors will continue to serve as a solid foundation for further strengthening of friendship between our countries," his congratulatory message reads.

Greetings have also arrived from the President of Syria, Bashar al-Assad. He conveyed the warmest congratulations to the President and the people of Belarus on the Victory anniversary, wishing stability, further progress and prosperity to the country. “The policy pursued by Western countries through sieges, sanctions and support for terrorism in a number of regions of the world inspire us to work more closely together to transform this pressure into a force that strengthens the resistance of our peoples and supports our desire for a safer and more stable world for the benefit of our countries and all mankind," the Syrian leader stressed.

Victory Day congratulations have also been sent to the President of Belarus by Russia’s top officials: Prime Minister Mikhail Mishustin and Deputy Chairman of the Security Council Dmitry Medvedev.
