Lukashenko: advanced technologies include defence capability, sovereignty and independence
Belarus is one of the few countries with a high level of competence in microelectronics – as noted by President Aleksandr Lukashenko during his today’s meeting on the development of domestic microelectronics held at INTEGRAL JSC
During his visit to INTEGRAL JSC – INTEGRAL Holding Managing Company, the Head of State noted that today it is necessary to once again analyse the work of one of the most important sectors of the Belarusian industry: microelectronics. According to Aleksandr Lukashenko, this is no coincidence, as the role of electronics for the future of Belarus and Russia can hardly be overestimated.
“In our age, advanced technologies include defence capability, sovereignty and independence of the state. Our country is one of the few that possesses high competences in the development and manufacture of a wide range of electronic components, alongside the production of unique technological equipment for the industry. Such countries in the world can literally be counted on the fingers of one hand. However, time waits for no one, and neither do the competitors,” the Belarusian leader explained.
The President emphasised that our country has preserved not only production facilities but, more importantly, scientific, design and engineering personnel. Belarus is developing its own school, training young people. Aleksandr Lukashenko recalled that two years ago, when visiting the Planar Holding Company, the issues of development of domestic microelectronics were discussed in detail. At that time, according to the Head of State, we identified a niche for ourselves in one of the most capacious segments of the global microchip market.
“This is the basis for power and industrial electronics products, as well as for space, where the impact of radiation and radio interference must be taken into account. Together with Russian partners, we have identified a critical element base for development. All this formed the basis of the microelectronics industry development programme for the period until 2030. We are carrying out our modernisation within the framework of this programme,” the President added.
