Kochanova, Matviyenko discuss the development of inter-parliamentary relations between Belarus and Russia

As part of the spring session of the CIS Inter-Parliamentary Assembly (IPA) in St. Petersburg, Chairperson of the Council of the Republic of Belarus Natalya Kochanova has met with Valentina Matviyenko, the Chairperson of the Federation Council of the Russian Federation and Chairperson of the CIS IPA Council. The heads of parliaments noted the intensity of personal contacts – as reported in the Council of the Republic’s press service

Natalya Kochanova and Valentina Matviyenko stressed that the recent Supreme State Council of the Union State had also given new impetus to parliamentary interaction. Presidents of Belarus and Russia, Aleksandr Lukashenko and Vladimir Putin, in their speeches clearly identified the key vectors for the development of bilateral relations.

Moreover, during the meeting, the preparations for the 10th Forum of the Regions of Russia and Belarus, which will be held in Ufa in summer, were also discussed in detail.
