Khrenin: UAVs adopted by all military branches and types of troops

Belarus’ Defence Minister Viktor Khrenin congratulated the servicemen, veterans and civilian personnel of the Department for Unmanned Aerial Systems of the Armed Forces of Belarus on the 15th anniversary of its formation – as reported by the Belarusian Defence Ministry in its Telegram channel

Today, July 31st, marks the 15th anniversary of the formation of the Department for Unmanned Aerial Systems of the Armed Forces.

“The Department is rightfully considered the ancestor of unmanned aircraft, which has become an integral part of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Belarus. Over a decade and a half of painstaking work of the department, the necessary regulatory and technical base was created, an effective structure of unmanned aircraft was built, training of relevant specialists for the Armed Forces was organised,” Viktor Khrenin underlined.

He noted that close co-operation with enterprises and organisations of the defence sector of the economy enables to have the most modern unmanned aerial systems in service.

“Today, not a single significant event of operational and combat training of the Armed Forces can do without UAC units, and unmanned aerial vehicles have been brought into service by all types of troops,” the Defence Minister added.

The head of the Belarusian defence department wished the servicemen, veterans and civilian personnel of the department good health, well-being and new successes in service and work for the benefit of Belarus.
