Kazakh Mazhilis deputy: Belarus-Kazakhstan relations are example of constructive co-operation

The Republic of Belarus is an important political, trade-economic partner and trusted friend of Kazakhstan – as stated by Berdalin Amangali, a member of the Committee on Agrarian Issues of Mazhilis of Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan, head of the working group of Mazhilis of Parliament of the Republic of Kazakhstan on co-operation with the National Assembly of the Republic of Belarus

“Today our relations are an example of constructive and fruitful interaction. 2022 marks the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations. Over the years, they have developed in the spirit of friendship, mutual respect and strategic partnership. Moreover, we share common approaches to strengthening bilateral interaction. A number of major economic projects are being implemented, and the humanitarian sphere is developing,” the Kazakhstani deputy underlined.

According to him, the most important factor in active liaisons is, first of all, trusting relations between the countries’ leaders, as well as a constructive dialogue between the governments. He noted that the relations between the countries are regulated by a serious contractual basis, numbering over 80 documents.

A special role belongs to inter-parliamentary collaboration. Inter-parliamentary ties are one of the key factors in strengthening good neighbourly relations. The meeting of the groups is a vivid example of interaction, including in the development of industry, the agricultural sector, and digitalisation, which are key in economic development. I am deeply convinced that co-operation between the parliaments of the two states will contribute to the further development of our countries,” the deputy emphasised.

Speaking to journalists, he also noted that the range of liaisons between the states is quite wide, with special focus being placed on the economy, “In the light of the meetings that are taking place, we pay great attention to economic liaisons. The market of Central Asia, China today can be used, and this can be done through Kazakhstan. We encourage Belarusian colleagues to open joint ventures in Kazakhstan.”

He also said that imports of Belarusian products to Kazakhstan are 8 times higher than exports, “This is good, but we must work and produce the same good goods that Belarus manufactures.”
