It is noted that the strike will certainly affect the transport situation in large Italian cities, but the sphere of air transportation and railway communication will not be affected.

Difficulties with the operation of public transport will be observed in Rome, Milan, Turin and some other Italian cities. Passengers were warned in advance on which routes traffic disruptions are expected.

A joint statement by transport industry unions indicates that public transport workers receive the lowest salary in Europe. “Working conditions are deteriorating, and the protection of the health and safety of those engaged in providing services is decreasing, while responsibility and their risks are growing. Meanwhile, inflation and prices are rising, especially for essential goods," the document reads.

Trade unions put forward a number of demands, including a reduction in working hours and an increase in wages by 300 Euros.
