By seriously criticising the UN Security Council, Hossein Amir Abdollahian stressed the need for immediate action by responsible international institutions ‘to stop the killing of women, children and refugees in the Gaza Strip and the Palestinian territories’. He stated that it is necessary to immediately send humanitarian aid to residents of all areas of the Gaza Strip, bypassing all restrictions.

Earlier it was reported that only a third of the medical centres of the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees in the Near East (UNRWA) continue to operate in the Gaza Strip. As of March 20th, 159 trucks with humanitarian aid had entered the territory. It is noted that these volumes do not allow meeting the basic needs of the population of the enclave, where up to 1.1 million people face food shortages.
