As Narendra Modi noted, today there is no time to correct the mistakes of the last century, when many parties ‘randomly spent natural resources’. He stressed that all of humanity now has to pay for this, especially the ‘peoples of the Global South’. According to the Indian Prime Minister, countries need to succeed in combating climate change and show greater determination in this. "We should recognise that all countries are to achieve their national climate goals. We must give developing countries a fair share of the global CO2 emissions budget. We must decide that we will move forward, maintaining a balance between adaptation measures [to climate change], damage reduction, and financing climate protection," he said.

Narendra Modi also urged to come to an agreement that ‘the energy transition should take place on a fair, inclusive and equal basis’. "We need to set ourselves the goal of continuously developing innovative technologies. We must be above our selfish interests and share technology with other countries," he added.

The World Climate Action Summit is taking place in Dubai. It is the main event of the 28th Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (COP 28). Delegations from about 150 countries, including the Republic of Belarus, have come to participate in the event. The summit is truly representative, as it is attended by the leaders of dozens of states. Among them is the President of Belarus, Aleksandr Lukashenko.
