The fourth edition of the Genocide of the Belarusian People. Punitive Pperations. Part 2 cycle – prepared by the Prosecutor General’s Office – was released in late 2024. It presents documents proving the fact that several years before the attack on the Soviet Union, Nazi Germany and its allies were prepared to exterminate the civilian population and put into practice the racial theory of their superiority. According to the orders, civilians of the settlements located in swampy areas, primarily the Belarusian Pripyat River area, were to be exterminated, and all Soviet prisoners of war and other persons who could work were to become slaves in German territory.
Belarus’ Prosecutor General Andrei Shved personally presented the printed edition to the general public and handed it over to 35 general prosecutor offices and officials of a number of foreign states. The publication in Russian and English was sent to 625 IAP members from 157 countries. The books are also addressed to the leading republican mass media, higher education institutions, government agencies and institutions of Belarus.
“Bringing the truth to the public will allow us to understand the true goals of the Nazis and the methods used to realise them, the situation in which the population of our country and the people called upon to defend it found themselves,” Mr. Shved emphasised.
