“In the scope of an inspection carried out as part of a preliminary investigation into the fashion sector in several countries under EU antitrust rules, the European Commission has started on April 18, 2023, an inspection at the Italian premises of Gucci, a subsidiary of Kering. The Group is fully cooperating with the Commission in the context of this investigation,” the Kering group posted on its website.

On April 18th, the European Commission announced a campaign to combat the violation of EU antitrust rules in the field of fashion. In addition to conducting inspections and searches, the EC has sent out official requests to fashion houses. It is noted that the searches do not necessarily indicate the involvement of enterprises in violation of antimonopoly rules.
