Golovchenko: it’s important for Belarus, Libya to implement mutually beneficial economic co-operation projects
It is very important for Belarus and Libya to establish and strengthen contacts in various economic spheres and implement mutually beneficial projects – as stated by Prime Minister Roman Golovchenko during his meeting with Field Marshal and Supreme Commander of the Libyan National Army Khalifa Belqasim Haftar
The PM expressed gratitude that, despite the difficult situation in the region and in Libya, Khalifa Haftar found time to visit Belarus. “Belarus and Libya enjoy long-standing friendship and partnership relations. A very important, historic meeting took place [on February 18th] between you and Head of State Aleksandr Lukashenko. The Government of Belarus is determined to fulfil all the agreements reached during your meeting with the President. In our opinion, it is very important to establish and strengthen contacts in various sectors of the economy, to implement mutually beneficial projects of Belarusian-Libyan economic co-operation," he said.
Mr. Golovchenko expressed confidence that, despite the fact that it’s Khalifa Haftar's first visit to Belarus, the delegation has enough information about the Belarusian potential in industry, agriculture, education, and other spheres.
“I have carefully studied the information about Libya’s development these days. I deeply admire the efforts that you are making to develop your country. Belarus is ready to become a reliable partner in the implementation of your ambitious plans. We are now ready to discuss with you, with the members of your delegation, the prospects for implementing joint projects in such areas as food security, industrial development, construction, exploration, and education. There are many issues that we would like to discuss with you, but first of all, it is important for us to hear your position and your vision of the development of our economic relations," the PM stressed.
